Almost a year ago I moved in to Sean’s truly exquisite flat that an interior architect professionally renovated around seven years ago. Unfortunately, being a real boy, that also meant that seven years of clutter had accumulated, cringe worthy posters adorned the walls and there were very dark grey colours in the bedroom.
Being an ever so slight perfectionist I mostly concentrated on sorting out the mess for the first few months. Slowly but surely I started adding in my own personal touches to simplify, brighten up the space and include some key art pieces and plants.
For our bedroom, I seek an elegant simplicity pairing a soft, natural colour palette with luxurious tactile textures and subtle accent pieces to create warmth.
Having a dark bedroom with grey tones led me to select pieces to brighten and soften the space. The most essential item for me is excellent quality bedlinen, always in white, with subtle textures. This forms the foundation of our bedroom and is a timeless addition.
I added soft blush colour tones and rich textures through the gorgeous Ada throw, Veda and Cilla knit cushions.
The mid grey Espresso Cups paired with the indulgent Terilge Platter and the accent gold spoon brings warmth and interesting textures to our morning routine. The blush metallic frame I selected picks up the subtle rose colour palette and adds a point of interest to the room.
For the final touches I added green foliage in cement planters and my signature wallpaper to personalize and brighten the room further.
The easiest and most inexpensive way to update a bedroom is to change your throw or cushions every other year so I am thrilled to have selected key, quality pieces to form the foundation of my room for a timeless, effortless elegance.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, Country Road.
I am thrilled with my new bedroom space and had a delightful shopping experience at the V&A Waterfront where everyone was so helpful with their professional advice and kind smiles.
